BBB Details

  • Each BBB is a pooled fund with a goal to raise between $1 million and $40 million in a pooled fund. The advantages of pooled funds include professional management, issue-area expertise, capacity to create and track metrics, and the ability to move money quickly, particularly as needs shift.
  • The BBB accepts contributions of $10,000 or more, but each has a goal to raise $1 million or more in lead grants from major donors, either as outright or matching grants.
  • The CCC curates the BBBs, and promotes them to major donors, but unless otherwise noted, it has no affiliation with the pooled funds. Grant making decisions rest with the BBB fund managers.

Success for the Big Bet Bundle comes in two ways: first and foremost, raising money to meet the crises head on; second, to be a resource for major donors, highlighting the key issue areas and outstanding nonprofit organizations working in that issue area. These BBBs provide a model for meeting immediate needs and enable major donors to respond quickly and with confidence. Thank you for your consideration.
